Raiders hope Chandler Jones ‘gets care’ after Las Vegas arrest

Online jail records from the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada show Jones were held on $15, <> bail, with TMZ reporting that the athlete had violated a domestic violence restraining order.

The 33-year-old hasn’t played this season and hasn’t been with the team since early September, when he criticized owner Mark Davis, general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels on social media.

Jones was placed on the non-football injury list on Sept. 20 and said in a post Monday that he had been taken to the hospital “against his will” by Las Vegas firefighters.

On Thursday, Jones, who won a Super Bowl title with the New England Patriots, posted a series of wide-ranging messages, including a video of himself outside his home.

“The Raiders expect Chandler Jones to receive the care he needs,” theteam said in a statement Friday. “He, his family and everyone involved are in our thoughts. As this is now a legal matter, we will not be making any further comment,” the team said.

The NFL issued a statement saying it was “following the matter closely.”

McDaniels supports Jones despite bizarre allegations.

Josh McDaniels told reporters Friday that nothing had changed about Jones’ status on the team, adding that he cares about all of his players and former players.

McDaniels himself also received some weighty allegations against Jones, which included the proclamation that McDaniels had killed his former teammate Aaron Hernandez, who was charged with murder and committed suicide in prison.

“That’s never going to change,” McDaniels said. “That part will be there now and forever for all the guys we’ve coached and had the opportunity to meet and work with,” he added.
