Author of Fluminense’s fourth goal in the 6-0 victory over São Paulo at the Maracanã, John Kennedy celebrated his return to scoring and highlighted the importance of the result for confidence in the final stretch of the Brasileirão. The striker admitted that he had been bothered by the streak without scoring, but stressed that the rout has the potential to change his personal and team situation.
“It’s important to always be scoring goals, especially for a striker. I was a little upset… I played some good games, others not so well, but without scoring. Scoring again today gives me more confidence and I play more freely,” he said.
JK also praised the team’s dominant performance, which built a large lead from the start and gave the opponent no chances, taking advantage of the strong pace set by Zubeldía.
