Rui Borges: “We want to make the offensive flow even more deadly”

Sporting has the best attack in the league, has scored goals in 30 consecutive matches, and, at Alvalade, has scored in 90 consecutive games. In the preview of the match against Estrela da Amadora, Rui Borges considers these to be “normal” numbers for a big team.

Regarding the offensive flow of the Lions

“It’s a big team. We are a big team, we are the national champions, so it’s natural that, whether with Rui Borges or another coach, there will always be an offensive process, a greater offensive flow than normal or greater than almost all teams. What’s important is that we have to continue on this path and keep doing it.”

It’s possible to improve and score even higher.

“It’s about them realizing, and me as a coach too, where we stand and understanding day-to-day how we can improve that offensive flow, how we can make it even more deadly, more effective. It’s very much about that, more balance too, because then there’s the other aspect of balance, so we’re not so exposed to the opponent’s weapons. That’s what defines a great club. It’s up to us, as an idea, as a coach, to show and try to develop the individual and collective aspects of the team, to make that offensive flow even more effective.”
