AEK Athens, featuring João Mário (formerly of Benfica) and Filipe Relvas (formerly of Vitória de Guimarães), won the Athens derby (3-2) at Panathinaikos’ home ground, moving closer to the top of the table. Portuguese player Renato Sanches was left out of the home team’s squad due to injury.
Luka Jovic, the Croatian former Real Madrid player, was the star of the match with a hat-trick (16th minute, 45+2nd minute, and 90+3rd minute). For Panathinaikos, Rui Vitória’s former team, now coached by Rafa Benítez, Tetê (71st minute) and Filip Djuricic (90th minute) scored.

With these results, Olympiakos leads the Greek League with 31 points. PAOK is second with 29, and AEK completes the podium with 28 points. Panathinaikos is in sixth position with 18 points.
