The team raised R$ 22 million from the sale of Jemmes.
Mirassol ‘s successful campaign in the last Brazilian Championship resulted in the biggest sale in the club’s history. A surprise in 2025, the team finished the national competition in fourth place and secured a spot in the Libertadores Cup.
With their success, the athletes became targets for the national market. Jemmes, one of the standout defenders for Leão Caipira, was sold to Fluminense for 4 million dollars (approximately R$ 22 million). It is the biggest transaction in Mirassol’s history.
The sale surpasses that of Luiz Araújo, which changed the history of the club. On that occasion, the club negotiated the striker’s transfer to São Paulo, but retained 30% of his federative rights. In 2017, the player was sold by São Paulo to Lille in France, which yielded approximately R$ 8 million to Mirassol.
With this money, the club invested in the construction of a high-tech training center, inaugurated in 2019, which propelled Mirassol from Série D in 2020 to competing in the Libertadores Cup in 2026. Even with this success, the plan remains the same.
Philosophy
Mirassol’s board argues that the revenue generated from player sales should maintain the philosophy adopted in recent years, with investment in planning and without “crazy” moves in the transfer market. The goal is to remain in Série A and, more importantly, to ensure the club’s financial health.
An example of this stance was Danielzinho’s transfer to São Paulo. A starter and captain of the team managed by Rafael Guanaes in the Brazilian Championship, Mirassol opted not to make any “crazy” moves to keep the midfielder for the next season.
The Libertadores group stage is scheduled to begin in April, but the club returned to training on Friday (26). The objective, as in this year, is to remain in Serie A.
