An ex-Flamengo midfielder currently playing in Germany is being monitored by Corinthians.

Corinthians is monitoring a former Flamengo midfielder who plays in Germany.

Corinthians are interested in signing Vini Souza.

Corinthians remains attentive to the transfer market. After lifting the transfer ban, the club announced the signings of Matheus Pereira and Gabriel Paulista, but is still looking for reinforcements for the remainder of the season. One of the names being monitored by the board is midfielder Vini Souza, from Wolfsburg, Germany.

The information was released by ge.globo and confirmed by Lance!. Discovered by Flamengo, the 26-year-old player is a request from coach Dorival Júnior, who is looking for a defensive midfielder to provide competition for Raniele after Ryan’s departure to Fortaleza.

Vini Souza has played for several clubs in Europe, including Lommel SK and KV Mechelen in Belgium, Espanyol in Spain, and Sheffield United in England. At Wolfsburg, the midfielder lost his place in the team, and his last start was in October against Holstein Kiel in the German Cup.

Currently, Corinthians’ idea is to secure the player’s signing without any cost, through a loan. This has been a strategy adopted by the board since Marcelo Paz’s arrival, with the goal of strengthening the squad without compromising the budget.

In addition to Gabriel Paulista and Matheus Pereira, who made their debuts for Corinthians, the club also secured the signings of right-back Pedro Milans, formerly of Peñarol, and forward Kaio César, who belongs to Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

The Uruguayan was without a club and is expected to sign a four-year contract with Corinthians, while the striker arrives on a one-season loan. Both are expected at the club this week.

Corinthians is making moves to strengthen its squad after the departures of Maycon, Romero, and Talles Magno at the end of last season. The board is also trying to renew Fabrizio Angileri’s contract, but negotiations are stalled.
