World Cup song contest for Brazilian fans.

Contest to choose Brazilian fans’ song for the World Cup.

The song will be announced at a friendly match on May 31st at the Maracanã.

Brazil will have a new fan song for the next World Cup. A national contest, called “Hit da Torcida” (Fan Hit), will choose the new chant that will accompany the national team and will be officially launched at a friendly match in the Maracanã on May 31st.

The initiative comes from sports journalist and influencer Tomer Savoia, who conceived the project after observing that the country failed to launch a new fan chant during the last World Cup and has been without a hit associated with the national team for years. According to him, the calendar with few games on national soil and the absence of decisive competitions outside of World Cup periods have hindered the spontaneous emergence of a new popular chant.

“Brazil has always had memorable songs during the World Cup, but that hasn’t happened for many years. The fans missed it. The idea behind ‘Hit da Torcida’ is to give that spotlight back to the fans,” says Tomer.

The project gained structure with the entry of Sua Música, an entertainment platform focused on regional music from Brazil, as co-organizer. The platform will be responsible for creating the registration website, operating the contest, promoting the hit song, and structuring the project at a national level.

Registration is now open through the website www.hitdatorcida.suamusica.com.br and is available to any Brazilian over 18 years of age, whether a professional musician or not. The selection of the winning song will be done in different stages:

– A technical jury made up of music professionals (artists, producers, composers) will conduct the initial screening;
– A VIP jury, composed of big names in music and football, will select the 8 finalists;
– The public will participate in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the grand final through online popular voting;

The winning song will be announced and performed for the first time on May 31st, during the Brazilian National Team’s friendly match at the Maracanã stadium.

In addition to national visibility, the author of the winning song will receive a symbolic and unprecedented prize: the opportunity to attend the Brazilian National Team’s World Cup debut in person, along with Tomer. The winner will be entitled to airfare, accommodation, meals, transportation, and a ticket to the game.

“I want the prize to be a real stadium experience. The music will represent the fans, and whoever created it needs to live that moment as a fan,” says Tomer, who decided to personally cover the prize money and part of the initial structure of the contest to ensure the initiative came to fruition.
