Teams from Rio de Janeiro continue their good performance in the Copinha (São Paulo Junior Cup).
Botafogo won and Bangu snatched a draw in their opening matches of the São Paulo Under-20 Cup this Sunday (January 4th). Only America was defeated that same afternoon.
In Group 22, Botafogo beat Águia de Marabá-PA 1-0 in Taubaté. The goal of the match was scored by Matheusinho. The Rio de Janeiro team missed a penalty, taken by Kadu, but secured their first three points in the competition.
In Group 30, in Ibtachina, the Alvirrubro team managed a 1-1 draw after falling behind against Santo André-SP. Murilo Leite opened the scoring for the São Paulo team. However, the Crias do Proletário equalized in the 48th minute of the second half with a goal from Rafael Garcia.
The only team from Rio that lost was Mecão, who were defeated by Cuiabá, 2-0, at Arena Fonte Luminosa, in Araraquara, in Group 15.
Flu debuts
This Monday (05), at 9:30 pm, it is Fluminense’s turn to debut in the Copinha, against Água Santa-SP, in Santana do Parnaíba.
