Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are seeking to sign Milan striker.

The winter transfer market in Turkey promises intense competition between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe for Milan striker Christopher Nkunku. According to information from the Fotomac website, the two Istanbul rivals have made concrete approaches to sign the Frenchman. The battle takes place on the eve of the opening of the transfer window, on January 1st.

Galatasaray, already boasting a stellar attack with Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi, sees Nkunku as the final element to consolidate its dominance and secure another Super Lig title. Fenerbahçe’s proposal involves an initial loan with an obligation to buy set at 35 million euros. This amount is close to the 37 million euros Milan invested to sign the player from Chelsea less than six months ago, which could facilitate acceptance by the Rossoneri board.

Stalemate at Milan and internal competition

Nkunku’s departure, however, is not simple. The striker scored two goals in the 3-0 victory over Verona, helping Massimiliano Allegri’s team fight for the lead in the Italian Championship—currently held by Inter Milan.
