Just over a week ago, Arkadiusz Milik experienced a tragedy. In a friendly match against Ukraine, the Pole suffered a knee injury, which excluded him from Euro 2024. Now the 30-year-old is training hard to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
Last Friday, June 7, the Polish national team played a friendly match with the Ukrainian national team before Euro 2024 . The White and Reds defeated our eastern neighbors 2:1. However, not everyone could consider this meeting successful and happy.
The unluckiest player turned out to be Arkadiusz Milik . The 30-year-old suffered an injury at the beginning of the match, which forced him to leave the field. The whole event looked very dangerous and it was immediately clear that the situation was serious.
After thorough examination, it turned out that the meniscus in the attacker’s left knee was damaged. Milik quickly went to Turin, where his club Juventus organized surgery on the injured joint. The Pole underwent arthroscopy of the medial meniscus, after which he will undergo intensive rehabilitation.
Arkadiusz Milik has already started exercises aimed at his return to the football field as soon as possible. This one is planned for around mid-July. The Pole shared a video on his Instagram profile, where you can see how hard he trains and puts weight on the leg that was operated on.
The Polish national team at Euro 2024 is in group D. The White and Reds will play their first match on June 16 at 3 p.m. against the Netherlands. Then, five days later, Michał Probierz’s team will face Austria, and the group stage competition will end with a clash with France on June 25.
