Portugal beat Fiji this Sunday by 24-23 in the farewell to the Rugby World Cup. The historic triumph secured their first ever finals triumph and fourth place in Group C, Wolves’ best ever result in the competition. Historic!

The National Team reached the break with a 3-3 already very good and got two tries in the second half, by Storti and Francisco Fernandes. Fiji still responded, but a late Rodrigo Marta try with a conversion proved decisive for the win.

Portugal, who drew with Georgia and lost to Wales and Australia, finished fourth in Group C with six points, while Wales, first with 19, and Fiji, second with 11, progressed to the quarter-finals. Australia finished third, also with 11 points, and were eliminated, as was Georgia, who were fifth and last with three.
