Vitor Gómez, a player for Sp. Braga, in a Flash Interview with DAZN after the 1-1 draw against Rangers in a match counting towards the fifth round of the Europa League.
Tough game
“I think the team could perhaps have done more in the first half; that save from Ricardo [Horta]’s shot, that corner we had, we could have taken advantage of to make it 1-0. Then we conceded a penalty, and we had to chase the result. I think the team came out with a different attitude in the second half, tried to be more direct, to generate more attacks near the opponent’s goal. I think after Zalazar’s sending off we were truly a team. Even with ten players, we managed to have many more chances throughout the game and, realistically, I think we deserved the victory. We had a couple of clear chances where we could have won the game, but with a point, we remain in seventh place and we are happy.”
The fighting spirit of Sporting Braga
“I think it’s the ‘spirit of warriors’, we fight until the end, until the last minute, and the team represents the Sp. Braga emblem in every game. The fans also see that; we are all united.”
Four consecutive away games
“I think we need to focus on one game at a time. Now, on Monday, we have the Arouca game, which will be very important in our league campaign. And we need to focus only on this preparation, to be in the best possible shape to play on Monday.”
