The coach left his position at Cruzeiro after the draw against Vasco.
Cruzeiro announced on Sunday night (15) the dismissal of coach Tite after the 3-3 draw with Vasco in the Brazilian Championship. With this, the coach ends a disappointing spell at Toca da Raposa II.
This was the shortest job of the manager’s career since his time at Al Wahda, a club he coached for just over a month in 2010. Since then, he has had long stints at Corinthians, the Brazilian National Team, and Flamengo.
Wearing the Cruzeiro jersey, Tite managed the Minas Gerais team in only 17 matches. In that period, he achieved eight victories, drew three games, and was defeated six times.
However, most of their victories were against less prominent teams. Their only win against a team from the Brazilian Série A was in the final of the Campeonato Mineiro against Atlético-MG.
With him at the helm, Cruzeiro scored 25 goals and conceded 22. At the end of 17 matches, he finished his tenure with a 52.94% success rate.

Tite’s dismissal
After Cruzeiro’s 3-3 draw with Vasco , coach Tite left his position at the club. The announcement was made by the club immediately after the match at Mineirão stadium by Cruzeiro’s vice-president, Pedro Junio.
“Our campaign in the Brazilian Championship is not worthy of what the fans deserve. We are here to announce the departure of coach Tite. We thank him and his staff for their services. But the results, the performance, lead us to make this decision to change. Starting tomorrow, Wesley will take over the club. Bruno Spindel and I will be looking for a name to coach Cruzeiro for the remainder of the Brazilian Championship,” said Pedro Junio in a statement.
