Stefanos Tsitsipas lost his driver’s license for speeding, as his Lotus car was caught on camera traveling at 210 km/h on the Atiki Odos (Athens ring road). The speed limit on the Atiki Odos highway varies between 100 and 130 km/h on various sections.
Under Greece’s new video surveillance system, Tsitsipas was fined €2,000 and given a 12-month suspension without the right to appeal because he failed to appeal.
Stefanos exceeded the speed limit on the highway two weeks ago. He is reportedly one of the first Greek citizens to receive such a digital ticket.
In the 2025 season, Tsitsipas won the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Last month, the 27-year-old Greek played one match in the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia, where he lost to Italian Jannik Sinner and took home $1.5 million in prize money. In November, Tsitsipas withdrew from his home tournament in Athens on doctor’s advice.
