Hernán Crespo spoke about his future at São Paulo thinking about the 2026 season. This Thursday (27), Tricolor was defeated 6-0 by Fluminense in one of the most complicated defeats of the year.
Even with the team going through a difficult period and being far from the Libertadores qualification zone, Hernán Crespo secured his future, saying that he believes in the promises that were made.
“The board told me from the moment I arrived that there was no money, that they weren’t going to hire anyone, and that we had to save ourselves. We’re planning for the future, but I have to be clear about what we can do. I have clear ideas, and I’m trusting what they said, that there wouldn’t be any money until December and that things might improve in January,” he said.
“The idea is to continue and plan for the future, because I have to believe and trust, because I want the best for São Paulo and I think I can be a part of it and be the solution. Trusting that things will happen is part of my life, I can’t explain why I have so much love for São Paulo, but that’s how it is and I try to help. When the board thinks I can’t help, I’ll leave or I’ll be fired for the second time from São Paulo (laughs). As a player, I was like that, I tried to win on all sides and as a coach I was like that too, I was one of the few who won on three different continents, so I can be part of the solution. At this moment, the idea is to rebuild,” he concluded.
