According to investigative sources consulted by Spanish media, this is an official procedure initiated whenever a death not due to natural causes occurs, when investigators are analyzing a judicial death, as in the case of the collision between the two footballers. The procedure is considered standard, but news of the filing of a case against Owono has caused a stir because there is no precedent in Spanish legal cases for the initiation of proceedings against an athlete following a collision in a contact sport like football. Criminal justice will take its course, just like sports justice, and we will see what the consequences will be for the Andorra and Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper.
