Portuguese forward fondly remembered by several clubs. Diogo Jota, the Portuguese international who died in a car accident in Spain on July 3rd, was fondly remembered this Thursday, December 4th, the day he would have turned 29.
Among the clubs that marked the date was FC Porto , which he represented in 2016/17 on loan from Atlético Madrid : "Forever with us. Diogo Jota would be celebrating his birthday today."
Memories of the player also come from Wolverhampton , the club where he played for three seasons, from 2017/18 to 2019/20. "On this day in 1996, Diogo Jota was born. He scored 44 goals in 131 games for Wolves, playing a great role in our glorious modern era. Rest in peace, Diogo," reads a page from fans of the English club.
The National Team also marked the anniversary. "Your legacy continues to inspire us. Forever our number 21. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers remain with your family," read the Federation's post on social media.
