Cristiano Bacci: “Believing that we are Barcelona is a mistake”

In the preview of the trip to Barcelos to face Gil Vicente for the 12th round of the League, Cristiano Bacci, Tondela’s coach, underlines the need to work on the mentality and confidence of the squad, because only then will they be able to “win again.” 

The importance of working on the mindset.

“Before talking about tactical systems, I think the focus needs to be on changing the mentality, because the players need to be more confident. We need to take away the fear of playing. After the change in mentality, the work involves the players expressing themselves in the best way possible.”

Victories lead to confidence.

“Victories are lacking because victories lead to confidence. In life, when something negative happens, it’s normal for people’s hard work to be somewhat lost because they lose focus. Victories don’t come from nowhere; you have to go looking for them, and the work, which doesn’t yield immediate results, is the path that must be taken.”
